Comprehensive Psychoeducational Evaluation
Services - Including ADD/ ADHD
The following evaluative services are provided for Adults
and Children
Referral Sources:
- Typically self-referred, or requested by learning
institution, medical provider, treatment facility, or social
service agency
Objectives:
- Measure current intellectual ability and academic
achievement level
- Assess for presence of a learning disability, including
attention problems
- Assess for presence of significant behavioral and/or
socio-emotional problems
- Screen current visual-motor functioning /auditory processing
deficits
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of learning and information
processing style
Methods:
- Face to face interviews with patient, collateral
interview with parents, significant others and collateral
data collected from parents and school or work environment,
as available, with patient consent
- Testing of patient. Usually accomplished over two separate,
2-3 hour sessions
- Testing initiates in early morning and ends around noon.
Mid-week sessions are recommended to avoid any polarizing
effects of weekends
Testing Battery includes:
- Weschler Scales measuring intelligence quotient
(IQ) against Achievement,
- Comprehensive ADD / ADHD battery utilizing Adult or
Child standardized scales
- Visual-Motor Integration Scale
- Test of Auditory Processing and Reasoning
- Sensory Integration issues (where applicable)
- Depression / Anxiety and Emotional /Behavioral Issues
using standardized rating scales
Deliverables:
- Clinical impressions /Multiaxial Diagnosis/ Recommendations
- Response to individual referral question
- Comprehensive written report, including developmental
history and all test results
- Treatment Recommendations / Recommendations for academic
and home interventions
- Practical and specific Accommodations and Modifications
as applicable
